Attend an Event

The Children’s Center hosts two main fundraising events each year and participates in many events in the community. Fundraisers are essential to provide ongoing services for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

The Children’s Cup – A Night at the Races is our signature annual event held since 2013. This event provides everyone with an opportunity to bet on the horses right here in Medina County. This event takes place in May on the official day of the Kentucky Derby and coincides with the biggest day in horse racing.

Art With A Heart For Children Auction & Benefit for The Children’s Center of Medina County is a celebration and fundraisier in November each year since 2015. Art With A Heart For Children includes Live Auction and Silent Auction for select pieces of art from local community artists including students at the Medina County Juvenile Detention Center.

Community Events

Each year The Children’s Center of Medina County participates in a variety of community events throughout Medina County. Our presence at community events promotes safety, awareness and dialogue, so we can prevent abuse from happening in the first place and help keep our children safe. Below are some of the events we either attend or plan each year. Look for more information to be posted as events for this year are confirmed.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Each year we sponsor an awareness training providing the community with essential information about human trafficking. Past awareness events have included national speaker Theresa Flores, expert panels with FBI and ICE representatives, and a presentation about a local labor trafficking case.

April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. Pinwheels are used as a symbol of child abuse awareness and prevention because it represents the childhood we want every child to experience. The Children’s Center truly believes that every child deserves a fun, bright, creative, and extraordinary life, as well as a healthy and safe one.

June is Medina County Pizza Palooza where 60+ area non-profit and social service organizations serving Medina County are at the Medina Square to share with the community the resources and programs available in Medina County.”
