This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Volunteer and former Intern, Kennedy Rondini, whose passion for protecting children has only grown since her time with us.
During her internship, Kennedy channeled that passion into meaningful work with the Medina County Coalition Against Human Trafficking. She facilitated trainings in schools, kept coalition members connected and informed, helped plan the Together Against Trafficking community training, and developed social media content to raise public awareness.
Now, Kennedy has turned her heart for children into a career — working full-time at Summit County Children’s Services, where she continues to make a difference for children and families every day. And her commitment to The Children’s Center continues. She returned as a volunteer, bringing creativity to our space — brightening it with a beautifully maintained whiteboard calendar and lending her talents to the Planning Committee for Child Abuse Prevention Month, where she helps coordinate the Community Pinwheel Walk. We’re so grateful for all of her contributions to The Children’s Center.
Roles and Responsibilities
How did you learn about The Children’s Center of Medina County? How did you first become involved with The Center?
I completed an internship requirement for my Master in Social Work Degree at The Children’s Center. During my internship, The Children’s Center helped me figure out my career path. I am now working for Summit County Children’s Services on their Serious Trauma Assessment Team and the agency’s Human Trafficking Liaison.
After I completed my internship, I wanted to still be involved in CCMC and help creating a safe space for children who need to be heard, seen, and protected.
What is your current volunteer role? What do you do in that role?
I update the monthly calendar and am part of the Child Abuse Prevention Month Planning Committee.
What are you most proud of in your work with The Children’s Center?
The amount of students I was able to educate on human trafficking and teen dating violence during my internship and being a part of the Community Pinwheel Walk and helping be a voice for children.
