Rooted in Service:
Spotlight on New Executive Director
Madison Davisson

Written by Kristen Minichello

The Children’s Center of Medina County is pleased to announce Madison Davisson as our new Executive Director. Madison brings valuable continuity and frontline experience to this role, having previously served children and families directly through our Child Advocacy Center.

Madison joined The Children’s Center in late 2023 as a Forensic Interviewer and Case Coordinator, working one-on-one with children during investigations of abuse and neglect. In this role, she helped create a safe, trauma-informed space for children to share their stories while collaborating closely with law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, medical professionals, and mental health partners.

“I am humbled to take this next step as Executive Director,” said Davisson. “It is an honor to serve alongside a committed team and a strong community united in protecting children. I look forward to continuing our work to ensure safe and healthy childhoods for all children.”

Getting to Know Madison

Madison Davisson’s journey with The Children’s Center started on the front lines, working directly with children and families. We asked her to share a little bit about herself and her experience at The Children’s Center.

What skills and experiences are you most excited about bringing to your new role as the Executive Director?

Serving vulnerable populations is something I am extremely passionate about, and I have had the privilege of providing trauma-informed care in a wide range of settings. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of the systems that touch children’s lives and how important collaboration is to ensure their safety, stability, and well-being. Over the years, I have built trusted relationships with professionals dedicated to protecting children in Medina County and surrounding counties. I am excited to continue these partnerships in this new capacity as we continue working together to ensure coordinated and effective services for the families we serve at The Center.

How has working directly with children and families shaped the way you lead today?

Having held a direct service role previously has granted me unique insight into the needs of the families in our community. Decisions at The Children’s Center have always been rooted in what is best for the children and families we serve. Our day was successful if one child experienced kindness, the opportunity to share their experiences in a safe environment, and left knowing that what they had to say was important.

What do you value most about The Children’s Center team?

At The Children’s Center, we believe in doing our work with excellence because that is what the children and families of Medina County deserve. Each member of our staff brings their own strengths, talents, and heart to the work they do. That care shows in every interaction, both inside and outside The Center’s walls.

What are your favorite things about Medina?

I  love the abundance of resources and support that our county has to offer. If  you need something, there is always someone who can help (or someone who knows someone who can help!)

What is a fun fact about you?

In my free time, you will most likely find me at a concert. I love the variety of music venues that Northeast Ohio has to offer, and no matter the location, I can have a good time when there is good music. Whether in a general admission pit or balcony seating, I will be there with a soft pretzel and a cherry Coke in hand.
