We are grateful that Elizabeth Bux has served on our team as a Board Member since 2016. She is a partner at Williams and Batchelder, LLP here in Medina.
We asked Elizabeth to share a little bit more about herself so that we could all get to know her a little better.
How did you get involved with The Children’s Center?
I got involved with The Center through Leadership Medina County. The former Executive Director, Rhonda Wurgler, was in my class and taught us about the important work The Center does.
What is your current role at CCMC?
I am a Board Member and the Chair of the Nominating Committee.
What are you most proud of in your work with The Center?
I am most proud of the expansion of services available to the community during my tenure. With the new space and expanded staff, we are able to reach more children with more comprehensive services.
What is the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My mother has always told me to “consider the source”. Basically, that means that you don’t take to heart things that people say. It also means don’t take criticism from people you would not take advice from.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An aerospace engineer.
What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?
I am an avid reader. I am usually in the middle of two or three books at any given time.
What season is your favorite?
I like summer. I love being outside and I dislike wearing socks.
What does the community need to know about The Children’s Center?
The community needs to know that we help not just the child victims but whole families. We try to help minimize trauma and give them access to services that will help them recover and build back better.
