Community Events
Each year The Children’s Center of Medina County participates in a variety of community events throughout Medina County. Our presence at community events promotes safety, awareness and dialogue, so we can prevent abuse from happening in the first place and help keep our children safe. Below are some of the events we either attend or plan each year. Look for more information to be posted as events for this year are confirmed.
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Each year we sponsor an awareness training providing the community with essential information about human trafficking. Past awareness events have included national speaker Theresa Flores, expert panels with FBI and ICE representatives, and a presentation about a local labor trafficking case.
April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month. Pinwheels are used as a symbol of child abuse awareness and prevention because it represents the childhood we want every child to experience. The Children’s Center truly believes that every child deserves a fun, bright, creative, and extraordinary life, as well as a healthy and safe one.
