Ellysa Paras

Written by Kristen Minichello

We are thrilled to have Ellysa Paras join our team as the new Family Advocate.

Ellysa graduated from John Carroll University where she completed a degree in Forensic Psychology. She is joining The Children’s Center after working as a residential counselor at Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeastern Ohio.

We asked Ellysa to share a little bit more about herself so that we could all get to know her a little better.

How did you get involved with The Children’s Center?

During a job search in a career that I am passionate about, I came across The Children’s Center. It caught my eye because it was one place where a child and their family could come and feel safe and only have to go through one interview and medical exam.

What is your current role at CCMC?

My current role is the Family Advocate.

What are you most proud of in your work with The Center?

I am most proud that I get the chance to help children and their families through a confusing and difficult time and provide them with support and resources.

What is the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?

A mentor once told me that it is okay to own our stories and be vulnerable. Sometimes it’s worth it to take risks than to not put ourselves out there at all. This really stuck with me over the years because, usually, everything works out and happens for a reason.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was a kid, I wanted to be an FBI agent.

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

On the weekend, you can likely find me riding my bike in the park.

What season is your favorite?

My favorite season is Fall😊
